Jan-Willem Snoeker
CEO / Founder
As Founder of Merqato, Jan-Willem leads the company's vision, growth strategy, and day-to-day operations. He comes from a long line of growers, giving him a deep, personal understanding of the fresh-produce industry. Combined with his commercial leadership experience at Philips and Oracle, and a background as a fintech founder, Jan-Willem brings both strategic insight and industry heritage to Merqato. He is focused on scaling the company's impact in fresh-produce forecasting and securing the resources to drive innovation across the sector.
Dmitrii Ratusniuc
ML Engineer
ML Engineer at Merqato, Dmitrii develops and fine-tunes the machine-learning models that drive our volume and price forecasts. He specializes in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and deploying models into production to deliver reliable insights to our users. When Dmitrii is not finetuning models, he is either traveling or preparing to go traveling as he is passionate to visit all countries in the world.
Morgan Wallace
Customer Success Manager
As Customer Success Manager at Merqato, Morgan partners with our customers throughout their entire journey, ensuring they feel supported, see measurable results, and get the most out of the platform. Morgan is especially motivated by helping them reduce fresh produce waste, save costs, and improve their workflows. Outside of work, you'll find her outdoors with her family and dog, or on the mat practicing Pilates and yoga.
Heidi Mao
Fullstack Developer
As Fullstack Developer at Merqato, Heidi brings a blend of industrial and interaction design with self-taught software engineering. A great combination that shapes how she thinks about both the systems she builds and the people who use them. Her focus is on creating scalable, robust architectures that can grow with the product. What excites Heidi most is being able to realize the system design that she draws in her notebook to a real life, production-grade product that give real value to users. When she's not building, Heidi is bouldering (or recovering from bouldering).
David Lijnse
Product Lead
As Product Lead at Merqato, David drives the product from strategy to execution. He has a background in design and product management and experience at multiple tech start-ups in energy, logistics and sustainability. David thrives when he can deal with the full spectrum of building product from tech to business & design. He loves the puzzle of making a highly technical product accessible to users who aren't. Beyond that, he's motivated by the bigger picture: solving the 30% (!) food waste problem created by our inefficient supply chains. Outside of work, he's happiest hiking and running in mountains, making the flat Netherlands a perfect place to call home.
Matthijs Kemp
ML Engineer
Matthijs is a ML Engineer at Merqato with a passion for building technical solutions that have a tangible impact on the planet. After studying AI at Utrecht University and working on machine learning projects in the biomedical and biotechnology sectors, he decided to shift his focus toward a more sustainable future. Joining the Merqato team allowed him to do exactly that, by helping to reduce food waste. When Matthijs is not training models, he enjoys exploring the world of spirits as an avid rum collector.Careers
